Overview

Provide expert inputs to the formulation and implementation of responsible business conduct and due diligence across various projects. The role involves coaching cooperatives/SMEs, developing concept notes and reports, and curating capacity building resources.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert inputs to coaching for cooperatives/SMEs in implementation of accompanying measures to due diligence systems, living incomes and environmental impact.
  • Develop concept notes for due diligence frameworks and provide expert technical inputs to readiness assessments, action plans and capacity building priorities.
  • Develop cohort-level summary reports based on due diligence assessment results and present assessment results.
  • Curate capacity building resources and provide technical inputs to ToT manuals and supporting documents.
  • Provide expert inputs to due diligence readiness assessments, result reports and action plans.
  • Provide technical inputs and guidance on the preparation/updating of RBC capacity building material.
  • Provide technical inputs and support for the delivery of capacity building training.
  • Conduct ongoing progress reporting and provide expert technical input to documents and communication material.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide technical backstopping.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, responsible business agricultural and rural development, including knowledge of agri-business and participatory approaches.
  • Experience of working with international/donor organizations or in national development agencies.
  • Experience in sustainability and inclusiveness agribusiness is desirable.
  • Experience as trainer desirable.
  • Previous experience of work for ITC or other UN agencies, or trade promotion / investment attraction agencies is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Master’s in economics, social sciences, Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries and or related areas.
  • Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.

Languages Required
• Fluency in written and speaking of English and French required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage
