Overview
The consultant will contribute to the submission of specific IPBES assessments and proposals for future deliverables to the Plenary at IPBES 13.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake technical tasks for monitoring assessment and spatial planning and connectivity assessment, including review of drafts, organization of review periods and meetings, data management, and ensuring compliance with IPBES rules.
- Undertake technical tasks for preparing a proposal on IPBES deliverables related to knowledge assessment, capacity building, knowledge foundations, and policy support, including written inputs, analyses, and workshop facilitation.
- Liaise with secretariat staff and technical support units.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in natural, social or interdisciplinary sciences is required, including experience in planning, designing, managing, implementing and evaluating projects.
- Experience working with teams in interdisciplinary contexts and bringing together diverse approaches in shared deliverables is required.
- Proven organizational and management skills with ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and adjust to changing circumstances are required.
- Experience writing and editing reports and documents addressed to multiple stakeholders is required.
- Relevant work experience with intergovernmental processes at the interface of science and policy is desirable.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental, natural social or interdisciplinary sciences, or related field, is required.
