Overview
The internship provides technical assistance to governments in Southeast Asia to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies, justice-delivery services, and health authorities, focusing on drug control within the Greater Mekong Subregion.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft concept note and invitations for activities planned;
- Translate documents from English to Chinese and vice versa;
- Assist with preparation of presentations, documents, and meeting minutes;
- Prepare and summarize evaluation and feedback forms;
- Draft activity reports with recommendations;
- Draft web stories and advocacy materials;
- Conduct research on topics related to drug control;
- Other tasks assigned by the Regional Office.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- OR be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs;
- Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
