Overview
Consultant to enhance communication, visibility, and outreach efforts for UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme projects. The role aims to effectively showcase projects, engage target audiences, and demonstrate their contribution to policy advocacy, capacity development, research, education, and intercultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and/or update tailored communication plans for projects and the Memory of the World Programme.
- Produce high-visibility materials such as news articles, success stories, press releases, one-pagers/brochures, and social media content.
- Assist in data collection for the UNESCO 2015 Recommendation, including managing communication, surveys, and data synthesis.
- Propose and support the development of engaging content like infographics and audiovisual materials.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
- Support activities to increase public awareness, including workshops and webinars.
- Serve as a focal point for communication regarding the UNESCO Jikji Prize.
- Manage the preparation and circulation of documentation for the Jikji Prize nomination process.
- Prepare reports, web content, and outreach materials for the Jikji Prize.
- Ensure timely updates on the MoW website and monitor its functionality.
- Maintain accurate linkages of MoW metadata with the Wikimedia ecosystem.
- Liaise with institutions to collect materials for the MoW International Register.
- Assist in the preparation of briefings, background papers, and strategy documents.
- Contribute to the development of concept notes and project proposals.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 years relevant professional work experience in communication, outreach, and advocacy.
- Preferably at least 1 year of experience at the international level.
- Experience in preparing and drafting high-quality visibility materials.
- Experience in developing and implementing communication outreach strategies for project outcomes and organizational visibility at an international level.
Qualifications
• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in the field of communications, journalism, international relations, or social sciences.
