Overview
The consultant will lead and facilitate coordination meetings for the Migrant Response Working Group to coordinate operational responses for vulnerable migrants in Lebanon. The role involves strengthening the capacity of the group and ensuring migrants' needs are mainstreamed into other sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate monthly coordination meetings of the Migrant Response Working Group.
- Organize and maintain regular coordination meetings with sector partners, migrant-led organizations, national authorities, HCT members, and donors.
- Serve as a key coordination interface with UN agencies, national authorities, and other in-country coordination mechanisms.
- Support efforts to strengthen and develop the capacity of the Migrant Working Group and Protection Sector partners.
- Ensure migrants’ needs are mainstreamed into other sectors.
- Develop strategic relationships with key institutions and stakeholders.
- Support engagement with donors and facilitate coordination of donor missions.
- Provide leadership for the preparation of guidance, policies, contingency plans, and technical standards.
- Assess progress against Migrant Response Working Group objectives and ensure quality of deliverables.
- Support consolidated reporting and tracking of partner inputs.
- Contribute to and strengthen existing monitoring mechanisms.
- Provide support to IOM’s Protection program, focusing on localization and community-based protection.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or seven years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
- Experience in coordination of emergency humanitarian operations, management and planning.
- Substantial experience in reporting on projects with large-scale donations.
- Experience in the field of research, monitoring and/or evaluation.
- Proven experience with strategic planning approaches, monitoring, budget control, project development and report writing.
- Previous experience working on social projects, such as strengthening social inclusion and promoting the rights of migrants and refugees.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public policy, Social/Political Science, Research, Project Management, International Relations, International Development, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
- University degree in the above fields.
