Overview
The Senior Investment Specialist will lead the origination, development, due diligence, approval, and implementation of private sector transactions using third-party funds. The role involves managing private sector investment funds and special initiatives within the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct industry research for fund management teams.
- Lead and undertake due diligence, risk analysis, and mitigation for loans, equity, and mezzanine financing.
- Lead relationships with fund managers.
- Analyze potential fund investment opportunities.
- Draft and present internal proposals for approval.
- Lead ADB's internal approvals process.
- Negotiate, structure, and complete fund documentation.
- Provide inputs on fund management issues.
- Prepare technical assistance papers and applications.
- Lead fund raising activities.
- Serve on Advisory Boards of portfolio entities.
- Attend annual investor meetings.
- Lead and execute co-investment transactions.
- Work with the portfolio monitoring unit.
- Ensure compliance with investment strategy and safeguard requirements.
- Monitor fund financial performance and actions.
- Lead, draft, review, and provide comments on project and policy papers.
- Lead and contribute to internal and external sessions for knowledge sharing.
- Maintain and share knowledge of best international market practices.
- Work with division team to achieve business goals.
- Participate in country teams and missions for planning and programming.
- Take the role of team leader and supervise the work of team members.
- Supervise the performance of reporting staff.
Required Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- International experience working in several countries.
- Experience in emerging market financing, preferably in Asia and the Pacific.
Qualifications
Master's degree, or equivalent, in finance, engineering, business or related fields; or University degree and at least 5 years specialized relevant experience.
