Overview

This internship supports the Triangular Partnership Programme (TPP) in the Division for Special Activities (DSA) within the Department of Operational Support (DOS) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The intern will assist with information management, meetings, reporting, and coordination.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the organization of substantive materials related to TPP work.
  • Assist in the collection and consolidation of information related to TPP trainings.
  • Assist in the preparation of briefing information on TPP work.
  • Provide assistance in the design and development of products for TPP engagement.
  • Develop and maintain records of meetings and action items.
  • Support the planning and coordination of TPP trainings.
  • Support the coordination of TPP meetings.
  • Support the preparation of background documents, monitoring, and note taking.
  • Provide research support for TPP Team engagements.
  • Support the drafting and editing of relevant correspondence.
  • Support the day-to-day management and activities of the team.
  • Support the team in preparing data, data models, and surveys.
  • Support TPP public relations activities, including social media, Factsheets, and article development.
  • Schedule and search for venues for internal meetings and with stakeholders.
  • Other ad-hoc related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Field of study must be closely related to the type of internship.
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint and Canva is desirable.
  • Ability to draft news articles and social media posts is desirable.
  • Ability to work in an international or culturally diverse environment is desirable.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is desirable.
Other Details
Languages Required
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.
Contract Duration
• 5-6 Months

Remuneration
• Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
