Overview

This internship supports technical and coordination needs for the implementation of projects and programmes within the Regional Seas Branch, assisting in the coordination of 18 Regional Seas.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and review implementation progress of RSB and Regional Seas activities, assisting with monthly and biannual reporting.
  • Compile technical content for UNEP's regular reporting on RSP activities.
  • Facilitate the submission of reporting, including following up on requirements, templates, and timelines.
  • Track, maintain, and update reporting inputs and activity records from the 18 Regional Seas.
  • Support the development of communication materials and consolidate case studies and best practices.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Perform other duties to support the work of the branch.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree in Sustainability Management, Environmental Law, Environment Science, Ocean governance, Political Science, or other related fields.
  • Demonstrate pleasant interpersonal skills.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Has a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and has a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another language is an added advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
