Overview

The Project Associate will support technical cooperation activities by compiling information, drafting reports, and assisting in monitoring project execution. The role contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goals through industrial policy advice and capacity development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Compile general background information on economic and social factors for assigned sectors, areas, countries, or programmes/projects.
  • Design and draft supporting flow charts, schedules, graphs, and tables.
  • Coordinate the collection and verification of documents, actions, and data.
  • Assemble and edit basic data for planning and negotiation.
  • Check project documents for clarity, consistency, and completeness.
  • Describe progress of ongoing project(s).
  • Investigate designated project activities and discuss findings with supervisor.
  • Maintain institutional memories or other documentation systems.
  • Assist in monitoring exercises related to project execution.
  • Retrieve substantive information on project status, outcome, output, KPIs, and risks from the SAP PPM module.
  • Draft reports, ad-hoc assignments, and research activities.
  • Arrange briefings, tours, and related activities for visitors, missions, and fellowship holders.
Required Experience
  • At least one (1) year of work experience in an area relevant for the recruiting office, including practical application of the context of technical cooperation activities is required.
  • Experience in evaluating the needs, conditions, and problems in developing countries, is desirable.
  • Ability to research and analyse information, to write in a clear and concise manner and to work effectively in multi-cultural teams is desirable.
Qualifications

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, international relations, or other relevant discipline with specialization in climate change, is required.

• Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required.
Languages Preferred
• Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
