Overview
To support the WHO Country Office in Ukraine in strengthening health information management, epidemiological surveillance analytics, event-based surveillance, GIS mapping and Power BI-based public health data visualization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Monthly Epidemiological Updates on infectious diseases.
- Prepare Weekly Health Information Updates.
- Prepare Monthly Emergency Updates.
- Prepare Weekly overviews of event-based surveillance (EBS) activities.
- Compile Event notification reports.
- Maintain and update Power BI dashboards and visual analytical products.
- Support training sessions for Pandemic Influenza Preparedness.
- Translate Oblast Public Health Profiles from Ukrainian into English.
- Update Weekly Bulletins with relevant HIM highlights.
- Provide capacity-building support to UPHC staff on preparation of Monthly Epidemiological Updates.
- Perform other related HIM Unit tasks as needed.
Required Experience
- 2 years of experience working at the national and/or international levels in surveillance, epidemiology, public health data management, health information systems, emergency health information, dashboard development, GIS mapping or related fields.
- Proven experience preparing epidemiological updates, analytical briefs, dashboards, maps, public health profiles or health information products for decision-making.
- Desirable: Relevant experience with WHO or another United Nations agency.
- Desirable: Previous work experience in crisis or conflict-affected settings, preferably in Ukraine or in similar operational environments.
Qualifications
- Essential: University degree in epidemiology, public health or another relevant field from an accredited/recognized institute.
- Desirable: Master`s University degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, public health or related field.
