Overview
The consultant will support the generation, compilation, and analysis of humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus data for the country office to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and inform policy and programme development.
Key Responsibilities
- Active management of the technical transition to the ITSO/HQ DHIS2 Production Instance.
- Oversee and coordinate monthly data collection from Implementing Partners (IPs) via DHIS2.
- Analyze and visualize data from various system components.
- Document key decisions, meeting outcomes, technical specifications, and system configuration changes.
- Track roles, responsibilities, and deliverables of various actors involved in system management.
- Support validation and harmonization of data across DHIS2 configuration sheets.
- Develop a new DHIS2 component for fund code managers to provide planning and target information.
- Expand the "Target vs. Achievement" overview piloted via the KOICA project.
- Implement a facility-level commodity distribution and tracking system.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools to review, synthesize, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Develop and maintain maps to visualize project locations, regional interventions, and country office activities.
- Propose innovative approaches for improving data collection and analysis processes.
- Scale the recently launched data-quality-checking and approval workflow for IP managers.
- Ensure all datasets are well-organized and accurately documented.
- Assist in cross-checking consistency between planned and implemented migration tasks.
- Collaborate with the M&E team and IPs to improve programme data collection and analysis.
- Provide essential technical support and data to CO staff and IPs.
- Maintain the regular development of analytical summary matrices, infographics, and maps.
- Compile regular reports and dashboards summarizing progress, gaps, factsheets, and Sitrep Data.
- Support programme units by sharing relevant data and analytical findings.
- Contribute to the development of briefing notes, communication materials, and advocacy content.
- Support GBV AOR and IMS-related activities.
- Compile and analyze information relevant to UNFPA’s mandate.
- Participate in monitoring programme activities, including field visits, review meetings, and status reporting.
- Engage in interagency coordination efforts.
- Develop user-friendly documentation, SOPs, and guidance notes.
- Support the implementation of knowledge management strategies.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge resources.
- Monitor and report on emerging trends and issues relevant to the humanitarian context.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by UNFPA leadership.
Required Experience
- Up to two years of relevant professional experience in data generation and analysis.
- Solid understanding of statistical techniques and proficiency in statistical software such as R, STATA, SPSS, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience in data collection and analytical processes.
- Familiarity with a range of research methodologies.
- Some demonstrated experience in providing technical support to government entities at national, regional, or local levels, as well as to non-governmental partners.
- Proficient in using standard office software and online management systems.
- Skills in collecting and analyzing high-quality, disaggregated data—by age, sex, and geographic location—are considered an advantage.
- Prior involvement in large-scale national surveys or census operations is an asset.
Qualifications
A master’s degree or higher in statistics, demography, research methods, or a related field.
