Overview
The consultant will provide practical implementation support to the CER/Emergency team, focusing on measurable preparedness and response outputs to strengthen UNICEF's operational readiness, government-led emergency response support, partner coordination, donor accountability, and timely humanitarian decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including updating risk analysis, reviewing and updating plans, supporting Minimum Preparedness Standards, developing Humanitarian Programme Documents (HPDs) and SOPs, supporting humanitarian proposal development, and consolidating data for briefing notes.
- Consolidate emergency information and reporting inputs for consolidated emergency reports, donor reports, and situation reports.
- Support capacity-building activities for staff and partners by preparing session inputs, coordinating logistics, documenting proceedings, and tracking follow-up actions.
- Support the coordinated use of emergency preparedness and response tools relevant to planning, monitoring, reporting, and implementation.
- Provide defined surge support for humanitarian preparedness and response tasks, including preparation of briefing packages and meeting documentation.
- Support field-level emergency assessment and coordination, if required, including travel to crisis-affected areas.
Required Experience
Demonstrated experience in preparedness planning, rapid assessment, emergency reporting, capacity building, and knowledge management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, Environmental Management, Community Development, or any Health or Social Science-related course.
