Overview
The STEM Trainee will work at the intersection of sustainable energy, private equity, and national policy, gaining hands-on experience in the financial sector to build technical expertise and soft skills for a career in the global energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for gender- and youth-responsive energy activities.
- Assist in coordinating activities, meetings, and resources for energy-focused initiatives.
- Participate in energy audits, site visits, and needs assessments.
- Support the implementation of the Sustainable Energy Finance Developers Platform.
- Develop training curricula and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Assist in developing financial models by analyzing cost structures.
- Track financing commitments and emerging funding mechanisms.
- Support project partners in data collection and market research on climate finance trends.
- Support data analysis, platform performance tracking, and user feedback monitoring.
- Contribute to initiatives promoting sustainable energy finance.
- Gain insights into viability gaps and financial instruments for sustainable energy projects.
- Participate in advocacy efforts for sustainable energy finance policies.
- Use social media channels to promote project visibility and sustainability practices.
- Create and publish engaging digital content for social media channels.
- Participate in daily activities and authorized site visits.
- Attend supplementary training programs.
Required Experience
• Prior experience in energy, engineering, finance, communications or related fields would be an advantage.
Qualifications
• Applicants should be enrolled in a university programme such as Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. (or the equivalent) or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to their application, in a STEM field (i.e., sciences, renewable energy, engineering, data science, geographic information systems, or related areas).
