Overview
Policy Officer role within DG TRADE, Unit D.1, to contribute to shaping and conducting trade and investment relations with the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- General/horizontal policy making on EU-US trade relations.
- Technical analysis of US trade measures, including tariffs, and their impact on EU-US trade.
- Supporting negotiations with the US, preparing material and participating in discussions.
- Coordinating work related to trade relations with the US within DG TRADE and other Commission services.
- Supporting legislative processes, including drafting proposals and supporting trilogue negotiations.
- Drafting briefings and input on a wide range of general or specific issues.
Required Experience
- Strong technical background in trade policy.
- Prior practical experience in working on EU-US economic relations, in project management, or with analysis of (EU, US or other) customs and trade data would be a distinct advantage.
