Overview
The intern will support the EUROBATS Secretariat in communication and outreach activities, meeting preparation, document management, and campaign-related work, including activities linked to the International Bat Night campaign.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication and outreach activities, including support for social media channels.
- Support the preparation of communication content for the EUROBATS website and other channels.
- Assist with the International Bat Night campaign.
- Support dissemination of information materials, publications and outreach products.
- Support the preparation of templates and formatting of official EUROBATS documents.
- Assist in the practical preparation of EUROBATS 10th Session of the meeting of the Parties.
- Support the compilation, maintenance and updating of contact lists, mailing lists, meeting registration lists and other databases.
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the Secretariat.
Required Experience
- Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
- Experience with website content management systems and the preparation of web content.
- Experience in preparing and managing social media content.
- Basic skills in graphic design, layout or the preparation of visual communication materials.
- Experience with video editing, image editing or other multimedia tools would be an asset.
- Very good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, including formatting, templates, tables and document layout.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work carefully, consistently and accurately on communication and document-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements at the time of application:
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
- Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b)) and must commence the internship within a one year of graduation.
Preferred area of study: A degree programme in communications, media studies, public relations or journalism, and other social sciences, including sociology, political science and environmental studies, as well as in the areas of information and knowledge management, or a related field.
Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
