Overview

The internship involves assisting in the planning, research, production, and release of communications and multimedia materials on wildlife conservation topics, as well as supporting capacity building and programme management activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Draft content for social media campaigns and CITES and World Wildlife Day websites
  • Edit and produce photo and video content
  • Design outreach and capacity building materials
  • Organize and maintain internal storage for CITES multimedia assets
  • Support communication planning and implementation for campaigns, capacity building activities, and key meetings
  • Monitor social media and website performance and compile communications reports
  • Support the organization of virtual and in person meetings, workshops, and training sessions
  • Provide programmatic and coordination support to other OPU projects and initiatives
  • Maintain basic tracking lists, calendars, and documentation related to OPU activities
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent); or be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent or higher); or have graduated with a university degree
  • Academic background and experience in communication, graphic design, environmental science, or other relevant areas (including social media, web development/management).
  • Experience with graphic design software applications, such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar, is required.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems (e.g., Drupal) is desirable.

Remuneration
The Internship is UNPAID. Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
