Overview
The intern will contribute to the Division’s research activities, support capacity development initiatives, and assist in organizing workshops and other meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake research and analysis in areas such as: monetary policy, fiscal policy, tax cooperation, efficiency and governance of public finance, and econometric analysis for policy evaluation.
- Identify key short- to medium-term risks to sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Prepare summary tables, graphs, and other inputs for ESCAP publications.
- Support technical consultations, events, and workshops to assist government stakeholders in implementing sustainable finance and green finance strategies.
- Develop e-learning materials and modules.
- Coordinate capacity-building activities.
- Undertake research and analysis on sustainable and green financing instruments and modalities.
- Support the implementation of demonstration projects.
- Support the implementation of national- and regional-level projects.
- Undertake research and analysis on sustainable development challenges and success factors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent)
- Have studied areas such as macroeconomics, international economics, development economics/studies, political economy, applied econometrics or statistics, finance, environmental studies, business administration, engineering/physics/mathematics or related areas.
