Overview
Programme Specialist to support the planning and delivery of high-level events, contributing to the transformation of agrifood systems. The role involves providing technical, coordination, and programme support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the organization of key high-level events including participant registration, preparation of agendas, supporting materials and documents, and logistical arrangements.
- Provide operational support to the Chief Economist’s programme portfolios including maintaining and supporting the preparation of workplans, budget, timelines, and deliverable tracking.
- Contribute to reporting, budget planning and briefing processes by preparing summaries and supporting materials in line with FAO standards.
- Support maintenance and updating of programme, event, and content tracking tools to support monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management processes.
- Support update and content verification of website and internal platform using FAO systems, while facilitating internal coordination and knowledge sharing through digital workflows.
- Perform other duties as required
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in agricultural economics, business administration, development economics, political science, social sciences, other area relevant to FAO work.
- Extent and relevance of experience in governance, political economy and policy support related to food security, nutrition and agricultural development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international working and communications practices, and governance and business structures found in developing countries.
Qualifications
• University degree or technical degree/certificate from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in agricultural economics, business administration, development economics, political science, social sciences, other area relevant to FAO work.
