Overview

The National Project Coordinator will lead, supervise, and coordinate all activities for the successful implementation of the PROREFISH Gambia project, aiming to boost resilience and improve livelihoods for vulnerable groups.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate timely and quality implementation of project components and activities.
  • Coordinate preparation and adjustment of annual workplans, budget revisions, procurement, and recruiting plans.
  • Oversee implementation of project activities, ensuring timelines, workplans, and safeguards are followed.
  • Ensure technical compliance with project objectives and follow the monitoring and Evaluation Plan.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, Government Authorities, national institutions, civil society, and the private sector.
  • Establish and foster effective communication with project implementation partners.
  • Organize and lead project meetings, workshops, and technical activities.
  • Prepare and carry out project field missions, supervision visits, and technical support.
  • Manage contracts effectively, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and in line with standards.
  • Monitor risks and ensure implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and terminal project reports.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 10 years in Fisheries, Natural Resources, or related areas.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in management, coordination of development projects or components financed by international funding partners related to fisheries.
Qualifications

• Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Fisheries, Natural Resources, Biological Sciences, or related areas.

• Any of the major local languages spoken in the Gambia
