Overview

Online volunteers will assist with research on human rights violations, working closely with legal reporting officers and desk officers. This role offers an opportunity to develop and strengthen skills in human rights monitoring and analysis.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct open-source research on assigned human rights topics or incidents using publicly available information.
  • Prepare short weekly summaries (1–2 pages) highlighting key findings, trends, and sources.
  • Collaborate with thematic advisors and the Public Information Officer.
Required Experience
  • Strong experience and background in human rights, humanitarian, and crisis management is desirable and considered an asset.
  • Experience analyzing social media feeds and other open-source platforms for information gathering.
  • Proficiency in qualitative research methods and data analysis, including summarizing and synthesizing large volumes of information.
  • Strong public speaking skills in English and Arabic.
  • Familiarity with creating data visualizations.
  • Analytical thinking, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Persistence, self-management, and the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, or related disciplines.
