Overview
The Peacebuilding Assistant will support the implementation of peacebuilding activities, including conflict prevention and resolution, community engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. The role will assist the Peacebuilding Officer in facilitating dialogue, organizing workshops, and supporting community-led peacebuilding efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Peacebuilding Officer in implementing peacebuilding project activities at the community level.
- Support in Establishing peace building committees, organizing workshops, Inclusive dialogue forums, and training sessions for peace committees and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to participatory conflict and conflict sensitivity analyses through community consultations.
- Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, local authorities, and other partners.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for project activities, including organizing meetings and preparing materials.
- Assist in the establishment and capacity-building of peacebuilding committees, including women and youth, IDPs/returnees/host community representatives.
- Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of all project-related documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Peacebuilding Officer.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in conflict and peacebuilding
- Strong knowledge and experience of working in conflict-prone and insecure areas
Qualifications
• BSc or LLB degree in Law, Peace Studies, Conflict Management, Social Studies, or related fields.
