Overview
The Associate Project Officer- Statistics will be responsible for statistical analysis of research data to enhance the quality and impact of UNESCO MGIEP's initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create database structure to save and store data for further analysis
- Develop sampling plans and calculate sample requirements
- Support development of research tools and instruments
- Write codes in statistical packages such as R and Python to automate data analysis
- Carry out psychometric analysis using methods such as CTT, IRT, etc.
- Carry out statistical data analysis of various projects
- Support data collection through primary and secondary methods
- Provide programmatic coordination and support in assessment studies
- Write and present technical and analytical reports
- Contribute to programme design and evaluation tasks
- Support institute-wide activities
- Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
Required Experience
- Up to 2 (two) years of professional experience related to statistical data analysis, psychometrics, sampling, and report writing in the field of education, or social sciences.
- Demonstrated skills in using statistical packages such as R, Python, MatLab, etc.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of quantitative research designs and methods.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree (equivalent to a Master’s) in statistics, applied statistics (population studies, biostatistics, education, etc.), or data science.
