Overview
The intern will assist in project development and implementation within the Climate Technology Innovation Unit, aiming to develop expertise in clean energy and climate adaptation and gain insights into climate adaptation issues in developing countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project concept and proposal development for climate adaptation and resilience initiatives.
- Assist in drafting technical sections of proposals, including background analysis and logical frameworks.
- Prepare donor submissions for climate finance mechanisms and bilateral partners.
- Support the preparation of presentations and communication materials for donor engagement.
- Assist in identifying funding and partnership opportunities.
- Support day-to-day coordination and implementation of climate resilience projects.
- Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Prepare meeting minutes, summaries, and progress updates.
- Support monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management activities.
- Conduct desk-based research on climate adaptation, technologies, and resilient industries.
- Support the analysis of climate vulnerabilities and adaptation needs.
- Assist in developing policy recommendations and knowledge products.
- Contribute to mapping innovative climate adaptation solutions and business models.
- Support data collection, synthesis, and analysis for reports and policy briefs.
- Monitor global trends in climate technology innovation and adaptation finance.
- Prepare an end-of-internship report.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a second level university degree programme (master's or equivalent) or higher; or begin the internship within one year of completing a second level university degree; or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first degree programme (bachelor's or equivalent); or begin the internship within one year of completing a first level university degree.
- Field of specialization: Public policy and climate change strongly preferred, with consideration also given to international development, environmental governance, climate finance, economics, international relations or equivalent majors.
