Overview

Provide programme management and operational support to the Basic Services and Climate Change Programme, focusing on sustainable mobility, climate change adaptation, and water and sanitation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide programme management support including assisting with in-the-field testing, coordinating with counterparts, supporting concept note development, drafting visibility and communication plans, assisting with event organization, processing and collecting data, and conducting research.
  • Provide operational and administrative support including drafting meeting minutes and agenda items, proofreading and editing documents, preparing presentations, drafting formal correspondence, and maintaining filing systems.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. Prior experience in working/volunteering with NGOs, international organizations or government is desirable. Knowledge of graphic design, video editing, content creation and social media management is desirable.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), OR
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), OR
  • Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Preferred areas of study: B.Sc. in a relevant field (political science; business; economics/development economics; civil engineering; Urban Design or Urban Planning, architecture or a justified equivalent discipline or proven experience).

Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of Arabic is desirable. Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
