Overview

This internship supports the administration, coordination, and oversight of projects funded under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Sub-Fund. The intern will gain exposure to project management and the work of the United Nations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance in the development, review and preparation of project proposals.
  • Assist in the organization of meetings, including preparing background documentation and developing records.
  • Assist in tracking follow-up actions related to project review, implementation and reporting.
  • Provide research support for background/information materials, including data collection and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, summaries, presentations and other information material.
  • Support the day-to-day management and activities of the Management Unit, including organization of documentation, filing and information management.
  • Support the preparation and updating of visibility and information materials.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
