Overview
The role assists in the general supervision of Fleet operations and garage activities, coordinating operations in accordance with established procedures and contributing to maximizing the efficiency of Fleet operations and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accounting, reporting, and internal control systems are accurate and complete.
- Assist with logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of WFP cargo.
- Assist with staff training and identify additional training needs.
- Monitor the movement of food and non-food items.
- Identify fleet requirements and capacity needs in various sub-stations.
- Identify fuel needs and request accordingly.
- Supervise all Fleet personnel.
- Manage petty cash and operational advances.
- Conduct road condition assessments and purchase appropriate tire types.
- Identify staffing needs and advise the Fleet and Garage Manager.
- Administer Fleet Wave and ensure data is up-to-date.
- Prepare the annual procurement plan.
- Hold regular meetings with service providers.
- Develop procedures for maximum utilization of Fleet trucks.
- Evaluate the technical condition of aging fleet trucks and advise on their disposal.
- Reconcile FMS and LESS data monthly.
- Monitor fuel consumption monthly and analyze each truck's consumption.
- Extract data from FMS and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Enforce maximum health and safety requirements and environmental needs.
- Travel occasionally throughout the Country as operational needs require.
- Replace the Fleet and Garage Manager in their absence.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Fleet and Garage Manager.
Required Experience
• One year or more of professional experience in a relevant field of work, particularly the management of a spare parts store, with an interest in international development.
Qualifications
• A university degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, business management, business administration, administrative management, or another related field is required.
