Overview
The Digital Communications Assistant will support WHO Angola in strengthening its digital presence, public engagement, multimedia storytelling, and visibility efforts across communication platforms. The role will contribute to ensuring effective communication of WHO and Government-led health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and regularly update WHO social media platforms
- Develop and implement digital content calendars
- Produce digital communication materials, including graphics, social media cards, photo stories, infographics, and other multimedia products
- Produce and edit short videos, interviews, and audiovisual materials
- Develop innovative and creative digital communication ideas and storytelling approaches
- Create engaging multimedia content
- Support the development of press releases, web stories, impact stories, presentations, and other communication products
- Monitor digital engagement, media trends, misinformation, and audience interaction
- Support the communication and visibility of WHO events, campaigns, and public health observances
- Manage and maintain the WHO country office website
- Strengthen WHO's digital visibility, audience reach, and engagement
- Increase production and dissemination of timely, accurate, and engaging digital communication content
- Improve public access to quality health information
- Enhance creativity and innovation in WHO digital communication approaches
- Strengthen coordination and collaboration with partners, media, UN agencies, and stakeholders
Required Experience
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Extensive experience in managing social media platforms, digital engagement, and online visibility strategies
- Experience supporting event communication, visibility, and coordination
- Previous experience working within the United Nations (UN) system, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), or international and multicultural environments is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including missions, events, campaigns, and emergency-related activities
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Multimedia Production, IT, or a related field.
