Overview
Promote operational excellence through the supervision of the development and review of engineering and architectural projects, ensuring their execution in an efficient, coordinated manner aligned with the technical, operational, and strategic requirements of the projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, supervise, and ensure the technical quality of the development, integration, review, and validation of engineering and architectural projects.
- Ensure adherence to project requirements, schedules, budgets, applicable technical standards, and the highest quality standards.
- Ensure the application of best practices in project management, engineering, architecture, and technical design.
- Ensure project compliance with HSSE requirements, risk management, sustainability, accessibility, social inclusion, and PSEAH requirements.
- Promote effective processes for technical review, quality control, and document management.
- Provide strategic technical guidance to project and management teams.
- Support decision-making on topics related to engineering and architectural solutions.
- Monitor technical risks and propose corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensure full compliance with UNOPS HSSE policies, environmental and social safeguards, accessibility and inclusion requirements, as well as PSEAH standards.
- Maintain accurate technical, administrative, and documentary records.
- Support the preparation and consolidation of technical reports, periodic reports, executive presentations, and other project monitoring documents.
- Support commissioning processes, technical handover, contractual closure, and archiving of final project and works documentation.
- Support the organization, facilitation, and conduction of training, technical sessions, and capacity-building initiatives.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination and implementation.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading technical teams in the civil engineering and/or architecture sectors.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction technology, supervision and monitoring of works, or related areas.
- Experience in multicultural environments or within United Nations system organizations in developing countries is desirable.
- Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is desirable.
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related fields, with 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master's degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields, with 0 years of relevant experience.
- Desired Recognized professional certification or membership in a civil engineering or project management association, at a national or international level, is desirable.
