Overview

This internship offers the opportunity to gain experience in security risk management principles within the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). The role involves research, analysis, and support for training initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Research and compile information on latest information analysis methodologies, articles and reports, including Open Source Information (OSINT), mapping, OSINT tools, misinformation, disinformation, mal information, AI, deep fakes, new collation methods, and forecasting models to update course material.
  • Research and compile information on topics applicable for UNDSS online STI trainings.
  • Assist in coordination and scheduling of workshops and training, including maintaining participant lists.
  • Undertake other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Graduated with a university degree (as defined above).
  • Computer literate and proficient in standard software applications (e.g., MS Office 365 or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Willingness to take on varied tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Up to six months
Work Modality
in person at the duty station. It can however be adapted to accommodate remote/hybrid arrangements and/or part-time arrangements on an exceptional basis.
Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
