Overview

Provide specialized advisory support to review negotiation outcomes and prepare proposals for national positions for COP17.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and technically review official outcome documentation of SBSTTA-28 and SBI-7 related to IPBES and resource mobilization and the financial mechanism.
  • Present the content of documents and studies in detail.
  • Develop strategic substantiated proposals for Peru’s possible negotiation positions for COP17, including technical text.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience in environmental policy, finance or economics, investment projects, or related fields is required.
  • Experience in international negotiations related to multilateral environmental agreements, or with multilateral o bilateral development entities, or related to the development of international financial instruments, is required.
  • Experience in financial and/or economic analysis or assessment is required.
  • Experience supporting national participation in CBD processes, including subsidiary bodies such as SBSTTA and SBI, is desirable.
Qualifications

An advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration, and/or Economics is required. A professional degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is also required.

Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
