Overview

To handle receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities to maximize quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support best storage management practices in compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the receipt and dispatch of food and non-food commodities, including transshipments.
  • Prepare, verify, and sign off on warehouse and transport documents.
  • Maintain secure, organized, and up-to-date records of all warehouse transactions.
  • Conduct daily inventory reconciliations and support periodic stock counts.
  • Perform routine inspections of commodities to assess quantity and quality.
  • Identify and analyze discrepancies, damages, or losses, and prepare detailed warehouse loss reports.
  • Implement standard preventive measures to protect commodities from spoilage, contamination, theft, or damage.
  • Monitor the physical condition of the warehouse, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and optimal space utilization.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and on-the-job training to warehouse staff.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations or related field.
  • Experience using logistics databases to extract routine reports.
  • Experience in managing warehouses with food and NFIs.
  • Experience in managing inventories.
  • Experience in processing invoices.
Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • A post-secondary certificate or bachelor's degree in the related functional area is desirable.

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu.
