Overview

This internship supports the UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific's work on strengthening criminal justice responses to cybercrime, focusing on cybercrime and cybersecurity law.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct desk research and data collection on cyber-enabled and cyber-dependent crimes.
  • Support analysis of cyber threats, malware, online criminal misuse of technology, and emerging trends.
  • Review laws and policies related to cybercrime.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing technical notes, legal analyses, briefing notes, background papers, concept notes, reports, and presentations.
  • Support work related to digital evidence, basic forensic concepts, and incident response.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of meetings, workshops, technical capacity-building activities, and consultations.
  • Provide general analytical, research, and administrative support.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Be computer literate in standard software applications.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
