Provides and assists in the provision of legal advice on a wide range of legal matters involving international, public, private, and administrative law. Prepares legal opinions, studies, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in law, including legal analysis, research and writing is required. Experience in dealing with issues related to the operational activities of United Nations, or other international organizations' peace or other operations in the field is required. Experience working in a law firm or in an international organization or in governmental service dealing with matters of international law is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree, or equivalent) in law is required. A first-level university degree in law, in combination with two additional years of the required work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
