Overview
This internship supports the Budget, Financial Management and Reporting Section of the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in New York. The role involves assisting with financial reporting, data management, and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, compile, draft, and edit information for financial reports and statements;
- Support the development of process mapping for project continuity;
- File and archive documentation in hard and digital copies in Sharepoint;
- Assist with the creation and organisation of data in Microsoft Excel for donor reports;
- Draft minutes and talking points during meetings;
- Update and maintain the BFMRS tasking sheet and Finance Resource Mobilisation priority log;
- Assist with special projects as assigned;
- Assist in preparing for meetings and trainings, including contributing to PowerPoint presentations;
- Draft routine correspondence related to financial budget matters;
- Provide administrative support to the Chief of Section and/or Financial Officers and Assistants;
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Applicants should be proficient in standard word processing and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint or similar; be proficient in standard office automation equipment (scanner, printer, etc.).
