Overview
The Driver will provide reliable, safe, and professional transportation and logistical support to the World Bank's Country Office in Guinea-Bissau, ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the office and effective delivery of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive teams to meeting venues and field trips under high professional attitudes.
- Deliver office daily assignments in good and required conditions, according to World Bank procedures, ensuring staff safety and security.
- Stay alert and anticipate actions during Senior Management Visits, obtaining necessary information from the airport desk and coordinating with the Administration Unit.
- Maintain assigned vehicle clean and in good condition, recording mileage and gasoline consumption.
- Anticipate mechanical actions on the assigned official vehicle to prevent breakdowns, performing daily inspections.
- Collect and disseminate correspondences to Government and other Stakeholders daily, carrying visa requests to relevant Embassies.
- Follow up tax exemptions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and VAT exemptions, as well as vehicle registration.
- Use tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult cases at Ministries and Embassies, liaising with the Administration.
- Perform any fiduciary tasks assigned by the Admin Unit.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years driving experience.
- Knowledge of auto mechanics.
- Familiarity with other countries in the Senegal Country Management Unit (Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and The Gambia) and the sub-region will be an asset.
- Experience working in an international institution would be an advantage.
Qualifications
- A level of high school diploma.
- A valid document for driving in the sub-region.
- A driver's license for 4x4 and minibuses.
- A recent certificate of fitness proving that you are fit to drive.
- A training certificate from the Red Cross on first aid would be an asset.
- A certificate of training in auto mechanics and any other patent technical training in electronics, electricity would be an asset.
