Overview
The Evaluation Specialist will contribute to and support project-level early learning assessments and project-learning reviews of AIIB operations, as well as thematic, strategic, and institutional-process evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the evaluation of Early Learning Assessments (ELAs) and Project Learning Reviews (PLRs) of AIIB operations across sovereign-backed (SBF) and nonsovereign-backed (NSBF) financings, and contribute to thematic and corporate-process evaluations.
- Contribute to the preparation of approach papers, evaluation reports, synthesis reports, working papers, and knowledge products.
- Provide technical comments on draft evaluations and AIIB operational documents.
- Support the development and updating of evaluation guidance.
- Provide independent inputs to the design and review of operational policies, instruments, and strategies.
- Support knowledge management, learning, and dissemination, including capture and curation of lessons, maintenance of the recommendation tracking system, delivery of training and awareness-raising, and outreach.
- Participate in joint and cofinanced evaluations with development partners.
- Contribute to the CEIU Annual Activity Review.
- Undertake other tasks as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- At least 5 – 8 years of progressively responsible professional experience in development, infrastructure, finance, or evaluation.
- Experience in project design, implementation, supervision, and/or evaluation across sectors (e.g., energy, transport, urban, water, climate, and finance).
- Prior evaluation experience in an MDB or international financial institution is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of MDB operational policies, financing instruments, and results frameworks across both sovereign and nonsovereign operations (e.g., investment loans, financial intermediaries, funds, PPPs, equity, and guarantees).
- Solid analytical and evaluation skills.
- Experience in knowledge management and learning, including capturing and disseminating lessons, tracking recommendations, and developing accessible knowledge products.
- Comfortable using technology in evaluation, including AI, data visualization, and geospatial tools.
- Strong team player with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions, cultures, and levels of seniority.

Qualifications
• A Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, law, public policy, or a related field is preferred.
