Overview
To provide expert technical support to develop and advance the climate resilience of UNICEF’s global nutrition programmes, to protect children’s nutrition in the context of increasing climate hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of global thought leadership products on climate change and maternal and child nutrition.
- Contribute to the implementation of UNICEF’s global climate nutrition evidence agenda.
- Contribute to the identification and development of internal and external partnerships to further climate resilient nutrition.
- Contribute to the fulfilment of technical assistance requests specific to climate and nutrition from country offices.
- Provide technical support for the development of funding proposals that include climate resilient nutrition actions.
Required Experience
- At least fifteen years of professional work experience in public health nutrition focused on multi-sectoral action for prevention and management of malnutrition in low/middle income countries.
- 15 years’ professional experience providing technical assistance and capacity building to countries.
- Experience in thought leadership, evidence review and generation.
- Creating knowledge products to guide nutrition decision-makers and practitioners.
- Forging and nurturing partnerships, especially at the technical level.
- At least two years of recent experience providing global thought leadership, capacity building, technical expertise and providing country technical assistance in climate nutrition action.
Qualifications
• Masters Degree in public health nutrition, plus undergraduate degree in nutrition or relevant social sciences.
