Overview

This role is responsible for shaping and implementing DRC Türkiye’s Advocacy and Communications strategies, acting as the advocacy focal point and ensuring compliance with donor visibility and reporting requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the advocacy strategy.
  • Develop policy briefs, talking points, and other advocacy products.
  • Stay abreast of key contextual developments and provide analysis.
  • Keep track of stakeholder engagement and coordinate with advocacy staff.
  • Use data to ensure advocacy messages are evidence-based.
  • Suggest program and advocacy recommendations.
  • Map out and connect with other advocacy actors.
  • Provide capacity development to partners on advocacy.
  • Maintain contact with Regional Advocacy Coordinator and share relevant information.
  • Support project development cycles with contextual analysis and advocacy components.
  • Represent DRC in advocacy-related fora.
  • Participate in relevant research and advocacy initiatives.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure up-to-date information on the humanitarian situation.
  • Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and quality assurance for communications and visibility activities.
  • Ensure delivery of communication and visibility requirements across all grants.
  • Ensure organizational visibility of DRC.
  • Coordinate and build capacity of communication focal points.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in communication and advocacy functions.
  • Experience in an I/NGO in a humanitarian setting an asset.
  • Experience in influencing and advocacy work including lobbying, policy development and information provision in humanitarian issues.
  • Excellent knowledge of mixed-method research methodologies, experience in research design and roll-out, including experience in designing data collection tools.
  • Proven experience in capacity building of teams, including development of training materials.
Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in political science, international development, economics or another relevant field.
