Overview
The intern will support the work of the Capacity Development Unit within the International Tax and Development Cooperation Branch, focusing on capacity development programmes related to international tax cooperation and domestic resource mobilization for sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance in drafting, reviewing and preparing papers, presentations, studies, reports and any other relevant documents;
- Attending and summarizing conferences and meetings, including virtual meetings;
- Assistance during meetings organized by FSDO, including virtual meetings and outreach;
- Research, compilation and analysis of information in tax matters;
- Assistance in collecting data for analyses and reporting of workshop/training/meetings surveys;
- Assistance in collecting data for the monitoring, review, reporting and evaluation;
- Support ITDCB's communications and outreach strategies;
- Preparing and providing input(s) for briefing notes, talking points, speeches and similar materials;
- Following relevant intergovernmental meetings and preparing draft summaries;
- Assisting with any other ad hoc assignments related to the work of the Branch.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
