Overview
The Information Management Officer will support UNICEF in identifying and GIS mapping vulnerable children, including those affected by emergencies, by leveraging data for situation monitoring to strengthen preparedness, targeting, and coordination of development and humanitarian interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide substantive support on Information Management (IM) for development and humanitarian programming.
- Support UNICEF in identifying and GIS mapping vulnerable children.
- Ensure data centralization and mapping for situation monitoring.
- Support Programme Sections, Field Offices, and UNICEF-led or co-led Clusters in data collection and management.
- Assist Cluster Coordinators.
- Contribute to establishing a decentralized monitoring system.
- Support the validation of sector Management Information Systems data.
- Provide capacity building on Information Management for UNICEF Mozambique Sections, Field Offices, and partners.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of professional work experience in Information Management, including data analysis.
- Experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) required.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts (desirable).
Qualifications
• Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management or a related technical field is required.
