Overview
Consultant to support the development of a Compendium of Best Practices on Disaster Management, documenting ASEAN's progress and lessons learned over two decades.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of the Compendium structure, outline, and methodology.
- Conduct a comprehensive desk review of ASEAN disaster management initiatives.
- Support key informant interviews and consultations with stakeholders.
- Analyze and synthesize collected information to identify achievements, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Prepare the Compendium draft, incorporating feedback and finalizing recommendations.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of ASEAN disaster management cooperation (AADMER and its Work Programmes).
- Proven experience in developing knowledge products (compendiums, policy reports) for ASEAN entities, international organizations, or UN agencies.
- Strong track record in analytical research and publications relevant to disaster management, climate change, or humanitarian affairs.
- Excellent organizational, research, communication, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information.
- Familiarity with ASEAN working processes and AADMER implementation is a strong advantage.
Qualifications
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Public Policy, Development Studies, International Relations, Disaster Management, Humanitarian Affairs, Environmental Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
