Overview

The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to UN Women PNG Country Office and other high-ranking UN officials and visitors. The role also involves providing basic administrative and clerical support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel.
  • Deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items.
  • Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport.
  • Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts.
  • Take immediate actions in case of accidents.
  • Adhere to UN Women policies and security standards.
  • Contribute to environmental sustainability and cost-savings.
  • Maintain daily vehicle logs and records.
  • Provide inputs to vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
  • Perform minor repairs and arrange for major repairs.
  • Change oil, check tires, lights, and other vehicle components.
  • Arrange for winterization of vehicles when required.
  • Maintain availability of required vehicle documents and supplies.
  • Assist office personnel in filing, photocopying, and maintaining records.
  • Assist in mailing, distribution of publications, and payment of bills.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Experience

At least 2 years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record.

Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary education is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Languages Required
Fluency in/working knowledge of English is required. Fluency in Tok Pisin is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
