Overview
The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to UN Women PNG Country Office and other high-ranking UN officials and visitors. The role also involves providing basic administrative and clerical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel.
- Deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items.
- Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport.
- Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts.
- Take immediate actions in case of accidents.
- Adhere to UN Women policies and security standards.
- Contribute to environmental sustainability and cost-savings.
- Maintain daily vehicle logs and records.
- Provide inputs to vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
- Perform minor repairs and arrange for major repairs.
- Change oil, check tires, lights, and other vehicle components.
- Arrange for winterization of vehicles when required.
- Maintain availability of required vehicle documents and supplies.
- Assist office personnel in filing, photocopying, and maintaining records.
- Assist in mailing, distribution of publications, and payment of bills.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Experience
At least 2 years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education is required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
