Overview
The consultant will work on the UNEP Nature, Youth and Advocacy team's initiatives related to youth and education, focusing on projects such as the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge, Sport for Nature, and Playing for the Planet.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on the UNEP Nature, Youth and Advocacy team’s work on youth and education.
- Support projects such as the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge, Sport for Nature and Playing for the Planet.
- Scale-up the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge.
- Support the delivery of work on Sports for Nature and Playing for the Planet.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required.
- Project design: A strong track record of designing projects that secure buy-in and generate results and ability to deliver highly complex projects of a global nature efficiently and effectively is required.
- Communications: Ability to bring a diverse group of individuals and partners together to agree a collective programme of work as well as able to write high-quality reports and proposals as required is required.
- Education & Youth: Experience of working with youth and youth organizations with insight as to how to work with such institutions around the tasks described in the job.
- Innovation: Ability to think creatively about how to evolve pre-existing programmes to have maximum impact (desirable).
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree (Masters’ degree or equivalent) in communications, political science, environmental management or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
