Overview
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in finance within an organization, while contributing to the strengthening of financial management and effective decision-making in a professional context in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Key Responsibilities
- Participation in the preparation and analysis of reports on financial data
- Extraction and consolidation of supporting documents for payments and other requested financial information
- Processing of financial documentation and maintenance of an internal control system to ensure vouchers are compliant and transactions are correctly recorded
- Providing support to the finance unit in managing and verifying payments
- Communicating with colleagues regarding corrections and verifications for various periodic transactions
- Entering and extracting data from various UNOPS automated systems related to human resources, finance, procurement, and missions
- Verifying the accuracy of extracted data and records
- Maintaining the Finance dashboard and an effective filing system for financial documents and records
- Reviewing and updating supporting documents for audit preparation
- Assisting with inventory and physical verification of assets at the office and project levels
- Performing other related tasks as assigned
Required Experience
- An idea of the use of computers and office software (MS Office 2003, Google sheets and/or newer versions)
- Prior knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Familiarity with web-based management systems
Qualifications
- Student or holder of a Licence (BAC+3) / Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD (preferably in economics, finance, accounting, or management)
- Degree obtained within the last 3 years
