Overview
Plans, manages, and evaluates social media communications campaigns to promote public understanding of UNOP activities and views. Originates communications products to convey information to targeted audiences and builds strategic partnerships for effective social media communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy.
- Strengthen online and offline presence and ensure consistency in messaging.
- Identify communication trends and provide creative content solutions.
- Monitor and analyze current events, public opinion, and press.
- Develop high-quality communications materials such as press releases, articles, newsletters, briefs, and reports.
- Develop and implement a social media strategy.
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging posts across relevant platforms.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance using analytics tools.
- Identify and leverage trends, hashtags, and online conversations.
- Produce information communications products.
- Stay up to date with communication trends, digital tools, and best practices.
- Design visually appealing communication materials such as infographics, brochures, flyers, and reports.
- Create and schedule high-quality, engaging content for UNOP’s official social media platforms.
- Design visual assets, infographics, reels, and short-form videos.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, preparing monthly insights reports and recommendations.
- Support live social media coverage of key UNOP events, meetings, and campaigns.
- Develop social media toolkits and guidance for partner amplification.
- Coordinate with UN DGC, other UN offices, and external stakeholders for cross-promotion.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, journalism, public information or related field. Experience in producing engaging digital content on complex topics for diverse audiences is required. Experience in developing and executing multi-platform social media strategies is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
