Overview
The Project Analyst supports the implementation and management of strategic projects within the Prevention, Recovery & Resilience (PRR) Programme Cluster, focusing on coordination, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake responsibility for delivery of project outputs and implementation of project activities.
- Deliver project outputs on agreed schedule and budget.
- Assess, monitor, and manage project risks.
- Coordinate project monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Follow UNDP project implementation processes and procedures.
- Supervise the maintenance of Project related documentation.
- Manage the transfer of project deliverables to national beneficiaries.
- Coordinate project closure and HACT activities.
- Coordinate the procurement of goods and services and recruitment of personnel.
- Coordinate the delegation of packages of work to Responsible Parties.
- Coordinate and implement stakeholder engagement, communications, and/or visibility strategy(ies).
- Coordinate with MCO Operations and supporting functions.
- Maintain relationships and liaise with counterparts and focal points.
- Monitor project expenditures and commitments against approved budgets and work plans.
- Collect, analyze, and manage project data.
- Prepare and consolidate project reports.
- Support stakeholder engagement, communications, and visibility.
- Contribute to knowledge management, capacity building, gender mainstreaming, and resource mobilization.
- Support the development of project documents and project due diligence.
- Support set-up of new projects in UNDP digital platforms.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of new project personnel.
- Support inception phase implementation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and strategic linkages with implementing and development partners.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder mapping and analysis.
- Prepare substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation.
- Make recommendations to the management team on activities with potential for scale-up.
- Provide technical support to the implementing partners.
- Support resource mobilization efforts and project development.
- Organize training, workshops, and capacity building activities.
- Identify, synthesize and document best practices and lessons learned.
- Participate in and ensure sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
- Support establishment of knowledge platforms for the project.
- Promote advocacy on development trends and opportunities.
Required Experience
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience at the national or international level in supporting the management, coordination, and administration of sustainable development projects.
Additional desirable criteria:
- Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based management systems, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages is an asset.
- Experience in project management with a results-based management approach, budget management and financial reporting is an asset.
- Experience in Environment and Disaster Recovery projects and associated tools and processes is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working in a regional/multi-country setting, engaging multiple governments, regional entities, partners and stakeholders is desirable.
- Experience in GEF and GCF projects and processes is an asset.
- Experience with UNDP Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system, Quantum, and related systems (UNAll, PIMs, etc.) would be an asset.
- Previous professional experience working in the UN system, especially inter-agency or inter-office coordination desirable.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Environment or Climate related Science or Management, Disaster management/Recovery Engineering, Innovation, International Development/ Relations, Business Administration / Management, Project Management or other related/relevant field is required. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
