Overview

This role supervises junior staff in trade and craft areas, installs and maintains systems, and prepares technical reports. It also involves managing work orders, inspecting quality, and planning operational execution.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise junior staff in carpentry, electrical, heavy equipment operation, mechanics, plumbing, and/or welding.
  • Install/commission and operate/maintain systems in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Prepare/Review technical reports and assessments.
  • Develop, read, interpret and close-out technical work orders.
  • Maintain records relating to inventories and work orders.
  • Inspect quality of work and diagnose/resolve problems.
  • Prepare design, drawing and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate works with engineering counterparts.
  • Provide instructions and train users on equipment.
  • Recommend materials and equipment needed.
  • Develop periodic acquisition plans for engineering materials/equipment.
  • Monitor quality of supply of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure daily activities comply with environmental and waste management policies.
Required Experience

A minimum of seven (07) years of progressively responsible experience in construction/commissioning or operations/maintenance of facilities and infrastructure within the specific trade and craft area of carpentry, electrical, heavy equipment operator, mechanic, plumbing, welding and/or related trade and craft is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience working in AutoCAD (2D &3D) to develop technical drawings is desirable. Experience in developing Schedule of Rates (SORs) and / or Scope of Works (SOW) for engineering goods and services is desirable. Experience working in UN or international organizations in the field of engineering is desirable. Experience in Supply Chain Planning Tool & Real Estate Management is desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Trade and Craft Certification in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding or related trade is required.
