Overview
The Project Associate will support the Shifting to Zero Waste Against Pollution (SWAP) Initiative Project, assisting with day-to-day implementation, drafting reports, and liaising with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inputs to the preparation of AWPs and annual budgets.
- Support the preparation of procurement plans.
- Provide general administrative support and project logistic support.
- Support the control of budget expenditures.
- Control the usage of non-expendable equipment.
- Keep regular contact with project experts and consultants.
- Provide English translation as required.
- Draft Terms of References and other administrative documentation.
- Provide logistical support for travel arrangements.
- Manage visa support, transportation, and hotel accommodation for foreign experts.
- Support project experts during site-based joint activities.
- File and archive project-related documents.
- Support the organization and logistical preparation of project activities.
- Coordinate implementation with project partners.
- Organize Project Steering Committee meetings, project meetings, reviews, site visits, and events.
- Compile information on contractor performance and report issues.
- Monitor bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare inputs to APR and compile project reports.
- Draft correspondence, notes, briefs, and other materials.
- Support mainstreaming of gender equality.
- Prepare inputs to tender documents, technical specifications, and bills of quantities.
- Provide administrative and documentation support in procurement processes.
Required Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible administrative or project experience is required (with high school diploma) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree). Experience in project cycle management in the public or private sector or NGOs or international organizations. Experience in at least one climate change, environment or chemicals and waste project.
Qualifications
Secondary education is required, or a University Degree in business administration/economics, engineering, political/social sciences, urban or/and regional planning, climate change, administrative sciences or environmental sciences, or related fields will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
