Overview
To implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with WFP suppliers on local purchase production and readiness quantity for uplift.
- Receive approved dispatch plans and form the CO Supply Chain for each location.
- Ensure transport plans by fleet or commercial are received for loading and timely delivery.
- Ensure sufficient storage capacity at Bahir Dar transit hub.
- Record all dispatches in LESS and issue online waybills.
- Ensure Bag Marking is performed before uplifting if food is dispatched to FDPs.
- Gather and inform about route information for each dispatch hub location.
- Coordinate and follow up with destination hubs on commodity arrival.
- Conduct market assessments and engage with entities to identify logistics service providers.
- Support WFP deliveries/convoys in Amhara region.
- Prepare and report daily stock uplift from factories.
- Ensure and follow up vendor invoicing process for fleet truck washing.
- Oversee commodity accounting and ensure WFP corporate tools are followed.
- Ensure all fuel transactions for WFP fleet trucks are recorded in FMS.
Required Experience
At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in the fields of Logistics / warehousing in emergency operation. Experience in maintaining corporate systems and running queries on logistics activities. Experience in transport allocation and planning. Experience in financial planning, budgeting for logistics and reporting. Experience in working in the humanitarian/non-profit field.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education. A university degree in a related field is desirable.
