Overview

The National Communications Officer will shape and implement the Mission’s communication strategy, including public information, media relations, and online outreach. The role serves as the primary focal point for national and international media and manages the Mission’s digital platforms.


Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on public messaging, media relations, and reputational risks.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of a strategic communication plan.
  • Developing lines to take, talking points, press releases, and statements.
  • Developing and maintaining media contact networks.
  • Organizing and moderating press conferences, briefings, and media interviews.
  • Drafting and implementing crisis communication plans.
  • Managing social media channels, including content planning, creation, posting, and community management.
  • Producing multimedia content.
  • Analyzing social media engagement data and producing reports.
  • Coordinating with the OSCE Secretariat on branding and messaging.
  • Overseeing content planning and production for the Mission website.
  • Identifying storytelling opportunities.
  • Monitoring media coverage and political developments.
  • Providing analysis and alerting leadership on media trends.
  • Assisting with outreach events and communication campaigns.
  • Ensuring consistency in public image and branding.
Required Experience

Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience in communication, public relations, journalism, or digital media, preferably in an international or politically sensitive environment. Demonstrated experience in social media management, content creation (including photography and video), and public messaging. Experience working with international organizations or diplomatic missions is an asset.

Qualifications

First-level university degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science, or related field.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in the local languages.

Remuneration
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 2,337. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered.
